We swiped right...
This is the story of a boy with Midwestern charm and a girl with California attitude who found themselves on the same online dating app around the same time on a cold Wednesday night in January, when they both decided to swipe right.
They met in person the next day on a Thursday afternoon at the coffee bar in the lobby of Le Parker Meridien across the street from where she worked. Some will say she was a creeper, waiting in the lobby of her building to watch him arrive; if you ask her, she'll call it prepared, diligent, cute even.
He challenged the barista, noted that the pair had excellent taste in small leather goods, and demonstrated the perfect amount of assertiveness to make sure the couple had a place to sit and enjoy their coffee. ️
She laughed at his jokes, admitted her deficiency with geography (where in the world is Elkhart?) and ignited a spirited discussion about fried chicken and waffles.
She knew this was something special. It scared her, it moved her, most of all it really excited her.
They awkwardly hugged, as they said goodbye.
She stepped into the elevator in the building where she worked and headed back to work, wondering whether he felt the same. Her thoughts were disrupted by a vibrating buzz, it was a text from him and just like that, their lives changed. . . ️
